Fall and Spring Events

FALL

Fri Oct 11 / 10-11:30  History Fair  Winchester Building at Evans Park  Students or families create and present displays about a historical topic or person. Costumes and props are encouraged.  Free to participate and open to visitors.  This is a great way to showcase student learning for friends and family.

 

Sat Oct 19/ 9:30 – 12:00  Homeschool 201:  High School and Beyond  Winchester Building at Evans ParkA helpful workshop for those looking ahead to high school and college.  Dual Enrollment and financial aid information also included.  Breakout sessions will include Special Edition information for homeschooling special needs students.  Free

 

Fri Dec 13 / 9:30-11:30  Cookies and Caroling  Winchester Building at Evans Park   A favorite event for the holidays.  Families bring cookies and gather to decorate more cookies to put on platters and take to the various city offices and area retailers.  Cookies are delivered with musical holiday cheer.  $5 per family.

 

NYE Dec 31 / 8:00pm-12:30am  Teen Semi Formal Dance Location TBD /  This is a popular event for the teens.  The dance starts with some dance lessons and the teens spend the evening practicing their moves.  Tickets go on sale in November.  

 

SPRING 

 

Feb  8, 2020 / 9:30am-11:30am   Homeschool: 101 The Basics  Spring Hill Library  Panelists, Q&A, representatives from area tutorials and enrichment opportunities.  Free, bring a friend.

 

Feb 10 SHAPE We Love Books Literature Festival @Spring Hill Library.  Families/students create and present displays about a favorite book, series or author.  Costumes are encouraged!  FREE to participate. Visitors welcome.

 

Feb 27 – 29    Teach Them Diligently Nashville Homeschool Convention at Opryland Hotel. A three-day event for the whole family full of inspirational and educational speakers, an enormous curriculum hall, and opportunity to get some wind in your sails this time of year!  

 

March 31, 2020 / 9:00am-11:15am        THEA Homeschool Rally Day on Capitol Hill, Nashville.  Annual gathering where homeschoolers from across the state gather to meet our state representatives and hear updates on legislations that directly affect our families and our freedoms.  FREE to attend + low cost lunch option.

 

May TBD / 8:45am-1:00pm        9th Annual Spring Hill Area Homeschool Field Day sponsored by Classical Conversations, SHAPE, and area businesses. A great way for your family to wrap up the school year, along with 400 other homeschoolers from the Spring Hill area!

 

May 30 / 2:00pm        8th Annual SHAPE Graduation Ceremony.  A lovely ceremony with cake reception open to any Spring Hill area homeschooled high school seniors. Hosted by members of the Junior class.  Email shapecoordinator@gmail.com for more information.

 

June TBD /  9:00am-3:00pm   SHAPE Used Curriculum Sale & Class Fair Save money by buying and selling used curriculum and see a great selection of area classes & enrichment opportunities!  Sellers manage their own tables, set their own prices, and keep 100% of their sales.  No outside tables.
